Counselor - Violin

Stella Faux holds a Master’s Degree in Violin Performance from Illinois State University, where she served as concertmaster of the Illinois State University Symphony, chamber music coach, second violinist of the Faculty String Quartet, and graduate assistant to Dr. Igor Kalnin. Formerly, Stella was the concertmaster of the Illinois Valley Symphony Orchestra in La Salle, IL, and the strings instructor at Brixham Montessori Friend’s School in York, ME. Stella holds bachelor’s degrees in violin performance and psychology from Boston University, where she studied with Lucia Lin of the Boston Symphony. A dedicated educator, Stella has taught students with skill levels ranging from the absolute beginner to the undergraduate performance major. In addition to her experience as a “classical” violinist, Stella has been fiddling since childhood and is a passionate advocate of genre diversity in string education. When she isn't playing the violin, Stella enjoys painting, hiking, and spending time with her two cats Scylla and Charybdis.
